New website, who dis?

Dear Readers,
As you can see, Sound Advice got a bit of an upgrade. I've switched platforms from Buttondown to Ghost, which should address the tech growing pains I've been having behind the scenes. We're also officially now located on the interwebs at soundadvicephl.com, so update your bookmarks.
No disrespect to Buttondown—it's great. If you're looking for a low-cost newsletter alternative to Mailchimp, I strongly recommend it. (If anyone wants to pick my brain about this stuff, just ping me. This is the kind of thing that literally keeps a roof over my head.)
But I needed something that could handle newsletters, web archives, and paid subscriptions more seamlessly. Buttondown made it challenging for me to reference my own past writing about shows, which was becoming a real problem. So here we are.
Whether you're subscribed to the free newsletter or you're a premium subscriber, what you receive shouldn't look dramatically different (aside from some slight design tweaks).
One thing that does change: subscription levels. Ghost doesn't have pay-what-you-wish functionality, so I've shifted to monthly ($3) and annual ($20) tiers. If you're already a subscriber, the price you paid is the price for this year. We're still cheaper than a single concert ticket. And if you're not ready to subscribe but want to show support, Ghost now supports tips directly.
Most importantly, this platform upgrade was made possible by the support of subscriptions. Not only did I outgrow our setup, it also means this newsletter has surpassed my expectations. (Which is saying a lot, as I tend to keep the bar pretty low.) It's a good problem to have, and I can't thank all of you enough for not only making it possible, but helping me solve it.
Cheers,
Maria T
